Tight fit – perfect for kickstand lovers
Over the past few years I have been using a case with a built in kickstand for my iPhone. I have grown so accustomed to having it there that it handcuffed me when choosing a new case. I loved the new case designs, but none of the designs I really wanted had a kickstand built in.I briefly investigated using a kickstand with glue, but one I tried fell off. (I was probably my fault — I applied as best I could, but I think I did something incorrectly.)Enter the ZXM Magnetic Kickstand. I was incredibly skeptical about this initially. I wasn’t in love with the visual design and I wasn’t sure that it would fill the same need as my case with the kickstand built in.This case has surpassed my expectations.- The magnet is strong and stays on the phone, but it isn’t TOO strong, as to possibly scratch or damage the phone or case when taking it off.- The ZXM Kickstand has connected to my phone both WITH a case on and without the case.- One completely unintended benefit is that the kickstand slightly raises the phone from the table when placing my phone face down. While it doesn’t completely protect the camera lenses, it raises the phone from the table a bit.- This is a better solution than my built in kickstand case because the magnet allows it to rotate. Typically I would extend the kickstand and sit the phone up landscape oriented, but because the kickstand was on one side of the phone, it would be easy to knock it over. Now, the kickstand can be extended from the center of the phone, making the phone much more stable.- I am also able to stand the phone via portrait orientation. I didn’t think I would use this orientation this much.For the very reasonable cost of the kickstand, I am incredibly happy with the purchase. It has allowed me to consider different case options and even to have the kickstand available when the case is off.CONS:- kickstand may become dislodged when putting into a pants pocket. Granted, my pocket is somewhat tight, but it’s something to consider.- There are color options available, but the colors may clash with the case design.- The ZXM branding is a bit unstylish and unnecessary. The letters look like a monogram that I asked the company to put on the kickstand.All in all, these are very minor cons when juxtaposed with the benefits that the kickstand provides. Over time my case kickstand lost magnetic power/stay with folding back into the case. I’m looking forward to seeing how strong the magnet will remain.

Very thin, fits my bumper case and still lays flat
Iâm very happy with this. I have a Rhinoshield Bumper Case on my iPhone 15. The ZKM fits on the back perfectly and the phone can still lay flat because the bumper is slightly thicker than the ZKM. I will leave it on the phone except when charging. The magnet is nice and strong. This is a pretty nifty set up.For the portrait position, I recommend putting the hinge at the top not the bottom like the manufacturer shows. If itâs at the bottom, itâs just too tippy side to side. However, it does have a more vertical slant then. They have a photo showing that being on top can cause damage to the ZKM. I donât agree with this. The main risk of damage might be to the iPhone from being tipped over.By far my most frequent use will be in the landscape position. For that, I put the hinge on the camera side for maximum stability. But either the camera side or the opposite side work well and are stable.Of course a third use is to help hold the phone. You can position the open kickstand diagonally to hold it between your fingers.

Hinge loosens and does not hold
It’s so cool at first but after a month and a half (conveniently outside the return window) the hinge has loosened and is no longer stiff enough to hold it up, completely refuting the point of having it.

Convenient stand
This kickstand attachment is very well made. The magnet is super strong and stays attached to the back of my phone. The leg, which must have some sort of spring mechanism, stays at the angle I set and then snaps back in place when closed. The entire attachment is very thin and does not add much bulk to the phone, it doesn’t get caught when sliding into my pocket. It also adds something extra to hold on to when holding the phone. The only mark against it is the ugly white logo (I have the black attachment).

Very Thin AND Strong Magnets
The thinnest (3mm) MagSafe ring that I found on Amazon. When phone is in my pocket I donât notice it at all. The magnets hold on to the phone with strong grip; much better then a very similar, more expensive version of this design that I also tried. I was also very pleased that I could leave it attached to my phone and it mounted without a problem on my MagSafe car mount, as I was concerned that it would interfere with this process. So far the kickstand seems to hold his position well and snaps closed when it is about a quarter of an inch away from the ring, which means that it stays tightly closed. I will update my review if this feature develops a problem since that is my biggest concern based on some other reviews. I donât usually take the time to write reviews, but when my experience differs greatly from some other reviews that have been written, I feel obligated to write a product evaluation. From the perspective of value for the money, function, and finish this little device gets five stars for me. I will update this review if anything changes.
