On Saturday, 38 individuals were taken into custody for various offenses such as curfew violations, failure to disperse, and resisting arrest. These protests coincided with the nationwide “No Kings” demonstrations, aimed at opposing the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary military parade held on President Donald Trump’s birthday.
The arrests come as officials strive to reestablish control after riots erupted in response to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in the sanctuary city.
For several nights, police clashed with protestors in downtown Los Angeles, using tear gas and other crowd control tactics to restore order.

“Emiliano Garduno-Galvez is a criminal illegal alien from Mexico who endangered the lives of federal law enforcement by attacking them with a Molotov cocktail amid the violent riots in Los Angeles,” stated DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “ICE has arrested Garduno-Galvez, who is now facing attempted murder charges. These are the kinds of criminal illegal aliens that rioters aim to defend.”
