Senator John Fetterman from Pennsylvania has once again been recognized as a “voice of reason” within his party after he criticized the riots in Los Angeles, labeling them as “anarchy and true chaos.” He also objected to other Democrats’ attempts to label the anti-ICE riots as “peaceful protests.”
Eyal Yakoby, a University of Pennsylvania graduate known for discussing antisemitism on college campuses since 2023, noted on X on Monday, “John Fetterman is again a beacon of reason within the Democratic party.”
On Monday evening, Fetterman took to X to issue a strong condemnation of the Los Angeles riots, sharing a striking image of a rioter waving a Mexican flag while standing atop a car engulfed in flames.
“I strongly advocate for free speech, peaceful protests, and immigration—but this isn’t that,” Fetterman stated. “This is anarchy and genuine chaos. We lose our moral authority when we fail to denounce the burning of cars, the destruction of properties, and attacks on law enforcement.”

His statements garnered considerable support from conservatives, who are frustrated with Democrats for trying to frame the riots as solely peaceful until President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard over the weekend.
FETTERMAN DENOUNCES ‘PUNITIVE’ MEASURES FOR DIVERTING FROM PARTY STANDARDS DURING BIPARTISAN TALKS
One social media user remarked, “We were mistaken about John Fetterman,” referencing how conservatives quickly criticized his Senate campaign in 2022. “He seems to be the lone voice of reason from the left now.”
Comedian Roseanne Barr responded, “You can join us on the winning side…”
New York Republican Rep. Mike Lawler remarked, “He is 💯 correct. Anyone who takes part in such actions, whether in LA, Minneapolis, Portland, or on January 6th, should face arrest and prosecution. Violence and property damage are intolerable.”

Republican politician Joe Teirab questioned, “Why aren’t more Democrats speaking out?” describing Fetterman’s comments as “common sense.”
Another user stated, “Senator John Fetterman should guide the Democratic party.”

“Sen. Fetterman seems to be the only prominent Democrat to denounce the riots. Everyone else is silent (or clenched into a fist). Didn’t they tell us that ‘Silence is Violence’?” another commenter asked.
In response to Fetterman’s statement, former Republican Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker agreed, “True.”
Republican Alabama Senator Katie Britt also commented, “Once again, my friend @JohnFetterman is simply telling the truth.”

This isn’t the first time Fetterman has gained praise from conservatives and critics of the Democratic Party. He was one of the few Democrats to condemn anti-Israel demonstrations on college campuses following the outbreak of war in Israel in 2023. He also commended Trump for withdrawing from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with Iran and reinstating sanctions in 2018.

FETTERMAN POINTS OUT ‘ABSOLUTELY ABSURD’ DISTRESS TOWARDS FAR-LEFT DEMOCRATS
Fetterman has been outspoken about the Democratic Party’s shortcomings during the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election, highlighting that Trump’s support in Pennsylvania was “remarkable” and criticizing Democrats who labeled Trump a “fascist” after the elections.
Conservatives are appreciating Fetterman amidst the Democratic Party’s challenges following a tough 2024 election cycle that saw Joe Biden withdrawing from the race with little over 100 days left and Kamala Harris struggling to gain traction in her presidential campaign against Trump.
Fox News Digital reached out to Fetterman’s office for further comments but has yet to receive a response.
