BANGKOK: On Friday (Apr 25), a small plane crashed into the sea during a parachute training session near a resort town, resulting in the deaths of six Thai police officers, according to police reports.
The accident took place at approximately 8am (9am, Singapore time) off the coast of Prachuap Khiri Khan province, located south of Bangkok.
As per police spokesman Archayon Kraithong, five officers were pronounced dead at the crash site, while the sixth officer succumbed to injuries later in a hospital, as stated in a Royal Thai Police Facebook post.
Officials are currently investigating the flight’s black box data recorder to ascertain what led to the crash.
