Halifax police report that a toddler has died after being struck by a car on Friday night, close to downtown.
Authorities were called to the scene of a pedestrian accident on a street in Bedford, located just north of downtown Halifax.
A three-year-old boy was attempting to cross the road when he was hit by the vehicle.
Paramedics transported the boy to the hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Halifax police extended condolences to the family and expressed gratitude to those who witnessed and remained on-site.
Officials report that no charges have been filed, and the investigation is still active.
