Over a year has passed since Fujifilm released the X100VI, yet it has become one of the hardest cameras to find. Due to high demand and supply chain issues, it has often been out of stock. However, there is good news — this sought-after rangefinder-style camera is back in stock… at least for the time being.
If you’ve been searching for an X100VI, now may be your chance. B&H Photo is currently selling the silver version for $1,599. Even better, this is the first batch of units made in Japan to arrive in the U.S. since Fujifilm moved production back to Japan to avoid U.S. import tariffs.
Despite this change, the price remains the same, which is a relief given the unpredictable nature of camera prices lately. However, how long this restock will last is uncertain — so act quickly if you’re serious about getting one.
A Bigger Brother: GFX100RF Also Available
If you’re interested in a higher-end option within the Fujifilm lineup, the GFX100RF is also currently in stock. It serves as the medium-format counterpart to the X100VI — featuring a similar design and vintage feel, but housing a significantly larger sensor. We recently had the opportunity to test it out and while it might be more than most need, it’s a powerful tool for serious photographers, particularly those focused on high-resolution street or travel photography.
Why the X100VI Remains a Favorite
So, what makes the X100VI so special? In short: a compact design, exceptional image quality, and a lot of personality.
The camera is equipped with a 40.2MP back-illuminated X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and Fujifilm’s advanced X-Processor 5, providing stunning detail and the brand’s renowned color science. The fixed 23mm f/2 lens (equivalent to 35mm full-frame) is ideal for travel, street, or everyday photography.
The X100VI features an Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder that allows switching between optical and electronic modes, along with a tilting LCD screen, and in-body image stabilization (IBIS) that works well for up to 6 stops. Plus, it can shoot videos up to 6.2K at 30p, 4K at 60p, and supports F-Log2. Not too shabby for a camera you can fit in your pocket.
Add a built-in 4-stop ND filter, classic film simulations, and that appealing retro look, and it’s clear why this camera has been difficult to track down.
Where to Purchase the Fujifilm X100VI
Excited to buy? The silver Fujifilm X100VI is now available at B&H Photo for $1,599.00. Again, it’s uncertain how long this stock will last — given past trends, it might not be long.
