SpaceX is introducing a complimentary Starlink dish offer in the US, but it’s limited to specific states.
The company has updated Starlink.com to provide this offer for new customers interested in the Starlink residential plan. Normally, the dishes are priced at $349, but this promotion makes them free if customers agree to a one-year contract with a plan priced at $120 per month.

However, the discount is not available to all US consumers. A company support document indicates that it’s being provided only in states where SpaceX seems to have excess network capacity for its satellite internet service. In other areas of the US, including several major urban locations, Starlink’s residential plan is on a waitlist, or customers must pay a “congestion charge” to gain access.

This marks the lowest price for Starlink in the US so far. The company had previously launched the “$0 Starlink Kit” offer in Italy and Australia earlier this month, extending to Canada amid ongoing trade tensions with the US. It seems the free dish offer is also active in the UK.

To encourage domestic growth, SpaceX has introduced various discounts, including an $80 monthly “residential lite” plan. However, this too is restricted to certain US regions.
When you take advantage of the “$0 Starlink Kit” offer, SpaceX mandates that you use the Starlink dish at a single residential address. If you change locations, cancel your service, or try to give the dish to someone else, SpaceX can require the full cost of the hardware.
