Perfect for youtube videos
This is my first light box set up for youtube videos and its perfect. Way better lighting than the ceiling light or natural lighting that comes from my window. You are able to control which direction the lighting comes from and from what angle and how bright or not bright it is.The bulb isn’t actually a light bulb. It’s like a flashlight so you don’t need to replace it like a ceiling fan bulb. Plug the cord in to it and just turn it in.I’m assuming this isn’t even high end equipment but I don’t so happy with it. I was shopping for the cheapest I could find. This is a steal for beginners. I already got 90 subscribers on my youtube channel in a week since I started using it. Next is just a shotgun mic and editing software/editing software skills

Very happy with it considering the cost
They always say, you get what you pay for, but in this case it’s been a very good deal for me. This isn’t top of the line, by any means, but I use it to shoot auditions and it serves that purpose very well. I don’t have a place in my home to keep it set up, and I was worried that the constant setup/tear down would wear on it quickly, but so far all is still well. I haven’t had any problems with the lights, other than one time after it was left on for a while, they began to flicker. Now I’m conscious of how long I keep them on. I love that there are two temperatures and a dimmer control. The one main negative is the elbow for the overheadâI don’t think it fits like it should over the stump on the tripod (it doesn’t go down far enough). The lip of the stump is definitely showing wear, but it’s still working after 5-6 months of regular use (near weekly). The elbow clamp construction doesn’t seem like it’s going to hold up, either. It still works, but it’s the weakest part of the whole kit. I haven’t looked into buying another one⦠I should probably do that. But, for me, it’s been a great value for the money. Oh, the sandbag for the overhead wore out *very* quickly. Some duct tape patched it up nicely, but be aware of the seams on the strip holding the two bags together.Edit: 18 months of regular use and all is well. I’m still leery of the elbow clamp, so now I just keep those parts together and don’t return them to the bag.

That is a lot of equpiment for the money
Impressive. For not a lot of money, the lighting is massively improved from a single source. Beyond, the tripods are lightweight, not superb but adequate for their job. There are instructions but they are not super explicit. It’s worth noting that the rods to spread out the umbrellas insert into the lights’ rims themselves. Literally, a round peg into a square hole. The proper order is stand up tripod, don umbrella, stick rods into light and then fit the umbrella. Be careful, there’s not a great deal of stress these plastic receptacles can take but I’m hoping the canvas relaxes with some time. Functionally, the spectrum is beautiful and diverse, the dimmability is proportionate and little heat from LED technology. This is a good product.

Great for Beginners
I needed an entry-level studio lighting kit for photographing my guitar builds. Being a novice at photography, I didn’t want to start with high-end lighting only to end up using only 10% of its capabilities until I began to understand not just lighting principles but also my DSLR camera. The instructions aren’t the best, but if one is mechanically inclined enough, the rig can be assembled by oneself with a little trial and error. When I assembled the studio setting for the photos attached, this was my second time putting the setup together so it went much faster. With the backdrop consisting of a simple set of king-sized bed sheets from the local store, I was able to set up the lights and experiment with positioning very easily. The package does not include anything for the counterweight bag that attaches to the overhead boom light, however (or at least, mine didn’t include anything). It’s up to the customer to find something suitably heavy but compact enough to fit in the bag (I estimate it’s about 3-4″ in width).

Functional, inexpensive 3-stand lighting kit.
Includes boom arm for overhead placement, and “warm” and “cool” lighting temp settings on each lighting head. Adjustable height on stands, adjustable brightness on lighting heads. Electric cords sufficiently long for power access (but extension cords are likely needed when all 3 are in use). A good basic kit.

Great lights but not very portable
We bought these to use in our house and different video shoots while traveling. They work well and are very bright. Unfortunately they’re not very portable. It takes a lot of time to assemble and dismantle them. If you want lights that stay in a room these will work. If you want something portable then look elsewhere.
