Use in M Mode
When utilizing a manual lens, ensure your camera is set to “M” manual mode. As these lenses do not have electronic contacts for lens identification, if exposure values are not adjusted automatically, your photos could end up too dark or too bright. You will need to set the ISO and shutter speed manually. F00 Display
With manual lenses, there are no electronic contacts, which results in displaying “F00” because the camera can’t retrieve aperture data. Consequently, you cannot modify aperture settings through the camera; adjustments can only be automated based on the focal length.
How do you operate the manual lens?
Activate “Release shutter w/o Lens”
If you can’t press the shutter after attaching the lens, enable “Release shutter w/o Lens.” Here are some tips for using our Manual Lens: 1) Activate the “Release shutter w/o Lens” option in the camera settings. 2) Turn the mode dial to Manual (M). Keep in mind that the aperture value will display as “F00.” The aperture value can only be changed automatically by varying the focal length, such as: 420mm/F8.3 → 500mm/F10 → 600mm/F12 → 700mm/F14 → 800mm/F16.

Why can’t I take a picture after attaching the lens?
To capture images, please activate the “Release shutter without lens” option. After doing this, you’ll be able to press the shutter button.
Why are my photos blurry and out of focus?
Our lenses are manual and do not feature electronic contacts for autofocus. You need to manually adjust the focus by turning the focus ring located at the front of the lens. If the images remain unclear, consider using a tripod along with the time-lapse function to stabilize the shot.
Why is “F00” showing, and how do I set the aperture value?
The “F00” display appears because the manual lens lacks electronic contacts to detect the aperture setting. The aperture value can only be changed automatically by adjusting the focal length (e.g., 420mm/F8.3 → 500mm/F10 → 600mm/F12 → 700mm/F14 → 800mm/F16).
What should I do if my image is too bright?
To fix an overly bright image, try lowering the ISO (for example, from 200 to 100) to decrease light sensitivity, and increase the shutter speed (from 1/125s to 1/250s) to minimize exposure and prevent overexposure.
What if my image is too dark?
If your image appears too dark, raise the ISO (for instance, from 800 to 1600) to boost sensitivity and reduce the shutter speed (for example, from 1/250s to 1/125s) to allow more light to reach the sensor.
【Super Telephoto Lens】This manual focus telephoto lens is not an original lens, offering a focal length range of 420-800mm and aperture settings from F/8.3 to F/16 (with fixed aperture values of f8.3 at 420mm and f16 at 800mm). It has a filter size of 62mm, is full-frame compatible, features an RF mount, and is constructed from high-quality materials for durability;
【RF Lens for Canon R Series Mirrorless Camera】This 420-800mm Manual Telephoto Lens is suitable for Canon EOS R, Ra, RP, R3, R5, R5 C, R6, R6 Mark II, R7, R8, R10, R50, and R100 Mirrorless Cameras (not compatible with Canon M series);
【Upgraded Version】This version now features an RF mount that allows attachment to Canon mirrorless cameras without needing a T adapter ring. For enthusiasts capturing wildlife or lunar photography, this lens is an excellent choice;
【User Instructions】This lens operates fully in manual mode with NO electronic connections, so the camera will not allow shutter release with the lens attached. To enable this, adjust the “Release shutter without lens” setting in the camera menu to “Enable”. Tips for using our Manual Lens: 1) Enable the “Release shutter without lens” in the menu. 2) Switch the mode dial to Manual (M);
【Manual Focus】The lens features a focus ring at the front. Rotate this ring manually to achieve the desired focus. Turn it slowly until the subject becomes clear and sharp. Note that with manual lenses, the aperture value will not be shown in the viewfinder; only “F00” will be displayed.

Excellent value for a budget lens
I only drag out a lens of this focal length occasionally, so I can’t justify $500+ for a good name brand lens. This lens is perfect for my occasional nature or astrophotography. I have to strongly recommend the seller. I tried to use the first lens I received well after the Amazon return window ended for it. There was a big problem with the EF mount for the Canon. It would not turn and lock in. The lugs of the lens would insert into the camera body but something was machined in the lens’ mount that blocked it from turning. I posted a review describing the issue. Less than a week later the seller contacted me and eventually offered a replacement lens. The new lens works fine. Attached is a photo of the blood moon of 3/14/25. There is no automatic focus or exposure and the lens is fixed aperture. I find that aperture priority auto, or full manual mode, works best.

Good value and good lens
A good lens at amazing value. Too slow for nebular work but good for moon and planets.

Manual focus lens at a bargain price
Nice lens for the price. As with all telephoto lenses in this price range they do suffer from chromatic aberration. This is an easy fix by making an aperture filter ring to reduce the amount of light coming through the front of the lens. There are several YouTube videos on how to accomplish this.

Bamboozled
I canât get the damn lens off. Any suggestions would be helpful. if I could this would get zero stars.

Price
Value goes with price, I feel issues are manufacturing issues and seller made contact to resolve issues, would recommend seller

I have no complaints does what it does

It has decent zoom but not a wide variety of distances within its limits. There a bit of a rainbow when zoomed in too much. A decent tripod is almost a necessity. Learning curve is steep, as it can be difficult to work with (may be the same for all zoom lenses), to zoom, focus and adjust settings on camera just to take one shot. All in all, it’s a decent lens at a good price. Good to learn and practice with.Rating may be higher once I get better working with it….better results/picturesUPDATED: I’ve had a chance to better use the lense. The pictures it took were quite good, even without a tripod (but still…get one!). Im still working on using different zoom lenghts. Attached pics were taken “across the lake” For the price, it is likely what I will need. Rating has been increased accordingly.
