Works Well in Most Situations
I bought this to help me when I do sideline football photos. It’s actually surprisingly large…it covers my camera body (and my head when I’m shooting) well. I have a telephoto lens (70-200) and it does not cover that, but I use a camera rain cover for that (also purchased on Amazon). What I didn’t like about the rain cover is that in order for it to cover my camera body, it has to be placed in a way that makes it difficult to access the camera controls and/or lens for zooming. With this umbrella, I’m able to use the rain cover to just cover the lens up to the camera body, and then I fold it over and can access the controls, which are covered by the umbrella. I don’t think you’d be able to use it in a downpour, but it worked well for me in both a light and steady rain last week. I also think it would be caught in a strong wind, which could damage your flash mount, so I would avoid using it on windy days. But overall, I’m very happy with this purchase.

Almost Perfectâ¦
This piece is almost perfect. I paired it with my DJI Ronin 4 and DJI RS Twist Grip Dual Handle. My only wish is that it was a little longer because it can get in the way while on the gimbal. Thatâs my only problem with it, but if youâre just using it on the camera and donât have a Hollywood setup this would be perfect for you.

It stinks I didnât get a chance to use this until it was too late to return. When I went to use it it kept falling out of my camera, when I went to turn my camera to take a vertical picture it was hard to rotate it so I missed a few photo opportunities⦠just cheaply made. Would not recommend.

This will protect the camera but also me from bright sunlight and rain. Combined with a rain cover the camera can be used safely in all weathers

I am horribly light sensitive so when I came across this umbrella, I thought I would give it a try. Works perfectly in sunlight. It blocks sun from the back of the screen so I can see what I’m shooting. I love it!!

This umbrella might work if your camera is on a tripod and doesn’t move at all, but it’s completely useless for lifestyle portrait and wedding photography. I purchased it back in May, but only got to use it in action in July while it was pouring during a wedding. No matter how tight I screwed the mount on the hot shoe, it would come undone within a few minutes and the umbrella would fly away while I was photographing the couple. It was rather embarrassing and made me look unprofessional. If the return period wasn’t expired already, I would have returned it to get a refund.
