   Powerful set of features. Easy to use!
   I have owned a number of software packages from Cyberlink over the years. I have always found Cyberlink to be very effective at filling a need in the marketplace with quality software. PhotoDirector Ultra is no exception; it is a great piece of software. I have quickly found a lot of features that I thought would be unavailable after the photo was actually taken such as background blurring.A couple of big recommendations up front… the software may seem a bit overwhelming for a novice photo editor. It is is *not* that hard to use so do not get frustrated. Play around with it some. Put some sample photos on your desktop computer and just try various features with those photos. You will find the software is easy to use and very powerful.Second is that you should use this on a fairly powerful desktop computer. I have desktop computer that is about 3 years old and uses a solid-state disk drive. It works great on this desktop computer.The software is downloadable; the box that ships has your product key. PhotoDirector 2025 Ultra is a lifetime license. So, once you own install it you own it. No annual renewal fees. However, that does lock you in to a specific feature set. CyberLink’s PhotoDirector 365 suite is subscriptoin based; while it will end up costing you more over time you get content updates, access to new plug-ins and editing features as they are released, there is a Mac OS option, and “365” has more AI features available. Other than that, PhotoDirector 365 and PhotoDirector Ultra have the same photo adjustment features.Several features and capabilities that I really like include:- Create animated GIFs and add dynamic elements to photos- Background removal and background blurring- Smart image enhancer can improve resolution and enhance old and scanned images- Layer editing- Smart object removal such as removing a person from the backgroundThe software might seem a bit pricey, but it is a one-time payment as opposed to a subscription. And, the software has a *lot* of features so take your time and don’t expect to master it on the first use. Experiment and try different features to see the results those features can give you.

   Lots of filters and options for editing
   Here’s the deal: I’ve been using another major name brand photo editing tool for years and am so used to the navigation it made it difficult to try something new. I’ve gotta admit though this one has some pretty cool built in features the other doesn’t. Namely the AI features. The filters for cartooning an image is really cool, probably the first and main filter I used and like using. I also took some time to dive into the enhancement features like distorting the image and moving things around. What I like about this feature is it moves the parts without creating pixelated distortions. In the other program, if you move the part of the image to much (stretch lines, blow up, etc.) you lose the linear look of the line and it becomes jagged and pixelated/fuzzy. This program seems to be able to keep the line original and linear. Quite frankly it makes it difficult to identify any modifications/enhancements. My only gripe is how slow the program moves. This is most likely due to my laptops ability/performance. The program isn’t necessarily the best for being user friendly either. I’m sure I’ll pick up navigation much smoother the more I use it but it took some time to figure out how to use things, where to click to change from one file to the next, etc. Something you’ll have to play with when/if you decide to try this one out. It definitely hasn’t replaced my other program as that one runs off my iPad but this one is a good secondary too, to have for things like the cartooning and some of the finer editing that I can do with it. Overall, I’m happy with it and would’ve given it 5 stars if it ran smoother on my laptop and had a more user friendly interface. By the way, download and set up were super simple and took maybe a few minutes tops. I hope this helps you!

   Product Key Already Used.
   So you order an empty box with nothing more inside that the “Product Key” inside with the manufacturer’s download instructions; only to attempt to download their product and find out the Product Key has already been used. I contacted CyberLink customer service and 36 hours later no reply. Pretty sure I’m done purchasing downloads from both CyberLink and Amazon. Looks like I’ll file for a refund and purchase something else.

   Not my 1st rodeo with SW of this type.Jury still out. Gonna be hard for this product to have more usable features than Adobe.
