PhoneSoap Turns Disappointed Customer into Customer for Life – Updated
On January 28, 2023, I left a review expressing my disappointment after receiving a PhoneSoap with a faulty bulb. The company reached out promptly to make it right. Talk about great customer service! On Monday, February 6, my husband and I received a replacement PhoneSoap and it works great. My husband and I are happy and we will continue to be loyal PhoneSoap users.————–My husband and I purchased this phonesoap to disinfect our phones. This is the second phonesoap weâve purchased and the third weâve had. The first one was a gift. Weâve learned that the bulbs donât last forever, which is why weâve had to purchase multiple. However, with this last purchase, the phonesoap was delivered with the bulb on the lid already defective (doesnât turn on). Unfortunately, my husband damaged the phonesoap trying to figure out what the problem was and therefore we canât return it.

Phonesoap BASIC
This PhoneSoap BASIC unit was purchased to replace a similar PhoneSoap I’ve had for just over 4yrs — the bulbs of my current unit are fading & won’t last much longer. I have been very pleased with my current unit and do hope to get as many years out of the new unit.A positive point in this transaction is that the unit was received super quick – and it was packaged very securely.The negatives of the product – which reduced my rating by 1 star because I couldn’t do a half star – are: (a) the interior surface where you put the item(s) to be sanitized and (b) the power cord.The power cord that was received had _only_ a USB connector. If you are planning to purchase and will position the unit very close to a USB outlet, then you will not have any issue. The supplied cord did not work for _my_ designated location, so I will be using the power cord from the older unit.Re the interior surface of the bottom part of the unit – I quote, in part, directly from a note card received with the product: “”The disinfection surface of your PhoneSoap Basic is a flexible, proprietary material that allows UV-C light to pass-through and kill bacteria and viruses on the bottom side of your phone.””Operative word there is *flexible*. Now, it does not have a lot of ‘give’ but there is a little. That surface reminds me of the top of a drum – only thinner.I suppose I didn’t read the description closely enough – that’s on me – as this flexible surface was very much unexpected – my older unit (a step up from ‘basic’) has a hard plastic interior surface. For the items I usually put into the PhoneSoap, I will need to always be very careful with their placement.If you are planning to purchase the BASIC unit, just be aware that the interior bottom surface is not a _hard_ plastic material and the power cord requires a nearby USB outlet.

Easy Peasy!
I donât usually review products because I buy from Amazon so frequently, but I have a longstanding âthingâ with how gross phones get from everyday use (10x more bacteria than a public toilet seat). I was the guy who used alcohol wipes on my case and screen protector every single day like clockwork. Then I came across SoapBoxâ¦..total game changer! Place your phone in the box, let it âbakeâ for the ten (10) required minutes, and wallah, a disinfected phone! Iâll never again live without a SoapBox (or three) in my life!

Seems well made. There is no usb port on the device to plug a phone into (some pictures show one), but the device charger wire itself terminates with a USB plug and brick. That may be important to someone hoping to use it in their car. Obviously no idea if it really works, but I guess we have to trust the testing labs on that one.

Just what I was looking for
I purchased this item as a Christmas gift to my boss who cleans his phone all the time using alcohol. He loves it and uses it all the time now. He no longer cleans with alcohol. It is compact and easy to use. Manual has simple instructions that anyone can follow.It was packaged well.
