I had some nasty scratches and scars on my shoulders from accidentally scratching myself before trimming. The moment I applied this ointment, my open scratches instantly puckered up as if they had just been fed! Over the next few days, those scratches and scars became barely noticeable. I estimate that in about 6 to 8 weeks, they’ll be completely healed. During the healing process, you may experience intense itching, so be careful not to scratch and create new scars. I don’t normally review products that I often, but I feel like this is one of those where reviews kind of really count for people trying to get rid of scars.I think I had this scar for probably four or five months and I’ve been applying this product for about a little under a month + the trust me when I tell you, the scar was a lot more visible and you could actually spot it walking up to me. Now, you can’t even see it walking up to me and I’m still haven’t even reached a month yet of using this stuff. I suspect that within the next month, it’ll probably be basically gone. If it was much older, it’d probably take a lot longer.So yes, the stuff actually works! Just make sure you don’t put on too much or else it’ll start peeling off. A little bit to cover it entirely so that it doesn’t start peeling up, should do the trick.IMPORTANT NOTE: because I can imagine people who’ve never used this stuff might end up complaining about it. This stuff can make the area you apply it to, a little itchy. It’s really not too bad, but your experience may be different. This is apparently a common thing when it comes to scar removal gels. That being said, if you experience itching, that’s pretty common. Your skin will also start peeling. That’s supposed to happen. I just exfoliate the area and the area and remove the dead skin.UPDATE: Dang, the scar is 90% gone. I shed a bit more skin and a bit more time later, here we are. There is no real scent, but there is a left over feeling on the skin especially if you sweat. There seemed to be a yellowish tinge on the skin before washing it off and reapplying but that didn’t make me feel any kind of way about the product since it wasn’t a permanent discoloration. I used it back in 1999 for a serious MVA where I had scars all over my body and it helped remove layers of scar tissue to help them appear less drastic and noticeable. When you had as many as I did, it can get very expensive though. You have to keep using it. That’s the key. Unfortunately, it did nothing for the old marks.For the new scars, it’s hard to say. They’re smooth, but they’re still a very dark, purple color after a full year. I applied the gel three times a day while the scars were very fresh and still healing. I’m not convinced it did anything to help with the color, but at least the skin is smooth.
