Great Headset. Here’s how it works.
1) For starters, it has a built in low frequency cutoff filter. This alone knocks out unnecessary low frequency sound. This feature will make your voice sound a thinner, smaller, less full, but this is a good thing for blocking noise. If you have a mid-range to high-range voice, this may not impact your voice, but will negate unwanted low frequency environmental noise.2) It primarily allows sound from a few inches away and as sound sources are further away, those distant sounds are attenuated.I use this headset when traveling. It is especially great in airports for knocking out the overhead announcements. My voice is just about the only sound the other party hears. It is amazingly good at canceling those otherwise interfering public announcements.I tested this while sitting on my couch with the TV on loud. First I tested my phone without using the headset and had my cell phone on normal speaker and then speaker phone. The other party could clearly hear the TV. Then I plugged in the headset and the other party could not hear the TV at all or not enough to understand what was being said on the TV. The TV sounds were practically non-existent if not completely so. It was very surprising how well this worked. My own voice was loud and clear to the listening person.Usually in my car, the other person could hear car road noise and radio, but when I plugged in this headset, they could not hear anything but my voice.I use this outside while walking around and it blocks all traffic noise, lawnmower noise, dogs barking, etc.. For any environmental sound to get through, it has to be close and loud.If you have your phone or device set to automatic gain, it will try to nullify this headset by increasing volume of distant sounds. It’s best to have your voice gain on manual. If you understand how to use this headset, it is incredibly good at attenuating background sound of any kind. I love this headset. It has made my communications very effective when in noisy public environments or at home when there is kitchen noises, TV noises, or other people talking in the background. It also has a mute (microphone off) feature so you can completely eliminate all sounds (including you) while listening to someone giving long talks such as on conference or dictating instructions. If I could only have one communication headset, this would be it.I have had this headset for almost four years and it has had no problems. I purchased in August 2016 and today it is June 2020. It seems to be durable. I keep it in a large plastic bag when not it use. The plastic bag keeps it clean and protected while traveling.

Works as described when you really need non-wireless
I hate wired headphones, but my company’s paranoid security policies prohibit wireless/bluetooth headsets, so here I am. These do the trick, they have a mute button and volume control. Sound quality is good. Have not heard complaints, I’ve tested this to hear myself by dialing in to my same conf call via bluetooth on mute and I sound perfectly fine. The price was good so I would say it gets the job done as described and great value for the price.

Good buy
This headphone is a good buy but there are 2 things that I wanted to point out. One – this is a very comfortable headphone – sits and covers your outer ear firm and just tight enough BUT you can still hear noises around you (which what I was looking for). So if you’re looking for total silence or muting of your surroundings when you put on a headphone then this is NOT for you. But I must also point out that despite still hearing background noise, the headphone sound itself, whether you’re listening to music, hearing the dialogue of a movie or doing virtual class or lecture, etc.) the sound is still very crisp and clear. Two – I love the mic. I have returned headphones with mics before because the mic only works in computers but not on my iPhone. And this one works with my iPhone (had to buy that extra accessory though). The mic is a good distance from your mouth – you pull it down when in use and push it back up when you’re done. People can hear me well and I have not had any complains so far as (of being muffled or sounding far to the mic or any “poor quality” sound. I have been using this headphone for only 2-3 days now but there was one instance that there was no sound coming from one side (i think it was the left side) of the headphone. I adjusted the wires and that fixed the problem. So we’ll see. So far I am very happy with this purchase.

Good audio quality for cell phone calls
Good crisp audio quality for phone calls. I like an on-the-ear headset instead of in-ear because cell phones have little or no sidetone.Don’t know what sidetone is? Back in the day, land line phone handsets fed the sound from the mic back into the earpiece, so a person could clearly monitor their own voice (and also hear any other sounds that the other party could hear that the mic picked up). That enabled a person to modulate their own voice (instead of screeching in order to hear themselves) and speak much more clearly. It made for a much better phone conversation experience. That feature was called sidetone. It’s a feature that cell phone designers and engineers somehow decided not to add to cell phones, or to make it so low in volume as to be nonexistent. So until either cell phone engineers put sidetone back into cell phones or headset manufacturers start building it in as a feature, the workaround is on-ear headsets that allow you to hear your own voice while you speak. The downside is that on-ear headsets aren’t exactly convenient to carry around, and they’re not inconspicuous. And they can be a bother if you’re wearing a hat.But they do give you some natural sidetone by allowing you to hear the sound of your voice. And this headset from Logitech, as I said, has some good crisp audio quality for phone calls.Which brings up another point. Even after years of development, possibly the thing cell phones still do worst is make phone calls. The audio can still be garbled and fluttery due to digitizing and signals that fade in and out in strength. So good audio quality—in that mid-range EQ sweet spot—can make cell phone calls a lot more pleasant. While there’s a volume control on the cord, there’s no answer button. That’s probably a decision to keep the headset compatible with many devices.Overall, good headset.

-Excels over other cheap and even branded (Xbox) wired chatsets. High sensitivity – I’ve noticed much louder voice output from phones and gamepads.-Background noise softening with the boom mic is good, and certainly preferable to the ‘cutti-g sylla-les ou-t’ active noise-cancelling of most anything WITHOUT a boom.-Light weight, acceptable comfort for continuous use, and also fits enormous craniums.-The price is affordable enough I bought everyone in our group a pair and the result is much quieter, clearer comms for everybody.

I had bought this strictly for calling as I needed a reliable and usable headset for good quality voice calls. This is predominantly a device to use for calls, given the sturdily mounted 180° adjustable boom mic and conveniently placed in-line volume/mute controls. The mentioned hardware works well as expected and I can converse on for hours comfortably and without glitches. The call quality and wearing comfort is so good that the process of conversation becomes natural enough for the presence of the headset to be forgotten. 5 stars for the functionality. What I didn’t expect was the exceptionally sweet sound. These headphones sound really great for a pair of budget calling headphones. They may not be audiophile great (I own a pair of entry level audiophile headphones, ATHM50 from Audio Technica). But they certainly pack a serious punch for their size and for the price. I can listen to music for hours without any discomfort and the sound is so enjoyable. Fom the looks of the speaker chambers, the headphones could be operating on semi-open air principle, providing with a nice open natural sound. On the down side, the 3.5 mm connector is of lower-than-expected quality and sometimes causes slight static. But this hasn’t posed any serious problem so far. This is an affordable and functional headset that can be used for both calling and listening to music. It is lightweight and comfortable enough to be left on your head and forgotten during those long calls or listening to music. It does its job well and is very good value for money as well. Buy it.

Works well for online meetings. Other people can hear me better. Sound is also good for listening to music.Update: After 2 months of use, the microphone is no longer working. My colleagues tell me they can barely hear me when I talk during online meetings.

This headset was purchased for phone and video calls and works great for that purpose. However, I’m also now using them to listen to music because the sound quality and comfort are so good! They are light and flexible so I forget they are on except for the great tunes I listen to when I’m not on the phone or zoom. Highly recommend these!
