- Jurassic World Evolution 3 will remove AI-generated character images
- This was confirmed by the developers on the Steam Forum
- This decision comes after community backlash
The creators of the upcoming dinosaur park management game Jurassic World Evolution 3 have decided to eliminate AI-generated visual elements amid strong reactions from the fanbase.
This disclosure, now mandated by Valve, is designed to offer transparency and let consumers make informed choices about purchasing products involving AI.
Many fans of Jurassic World Evolution expressed their dissatisfaction on the Steam forums, with a significant discussion thread on the topic. One potential player stated, “Nope, I will not support this.” Another added, “It’s a matter of principle.”
Some defended the use of AI: “If generating images for scientists quickly allows more time for essential game mechanics, then it’s worth using AI. Being upset over something minor is rather unreasonable.”
Regardless of individual views on AI content, creating divisions among fans right before a major release is generally unwise and can overshadow other valuable conversations about the game.
This might be one reason why developer Frontier Developments decided to remove AI-generated elements from the game.
“Thank you for your feedback,” a representative commented on the Steam forum. “We have decided to eliminate the use of generative AI for scientist portraits in Jurassic World Evolution 3.”
The notice about AI-generated content has since been removed from the Steam page, suggesting that the game will not include any AI-generated material.
Jurassic World Evolution 3 is scheduled for release on October 21, 2025, for PC, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PlayStation 5.
