Works as advertised
Would have preferred it filtered forever chemicals ($$$) but have a special advanced Brita filter ($) on Amazon we also run the fridge’s water through that captures them. The existing fridge’s water filter was installed 5yrs ago and sign it was capoot was low water pressure from fridge’s water dispenser vs. bad water pump.

Activated carbon filter does improve water taste, but canât filter a lot of what it claims to
RECOMMENDATION:Toss Up: This filter definitely makes water taste better which the activated carbon is known for, but without a strong actual filtration system which it does not appear to have, it canât take out things like heavy metals which it claims to.THE GOOD:1. It does make water taste better, which activated carbon is very good at.2. The kit comes with everything that you will need to get it installed. The only thing lacking is where you will mount the actual filter itself. For that, you are on your own.THE BAD:1. There is simply no way that this filter can take out of water everything that it claims to. To do that it would have to be an RO (reverse osmosis) system and it is not.2. They say that you can use this with an RO system which is technically possible, but in reality nobody would do that. This is a carbon filter only and most RO systems already incorporate one of those (mine does).3. Putting RO in the title implies that this is an RO system and it is not. Be sure to read closely to understand what it is you are buying.4. I would never buy a filter system without published specs from an independent third party on filtration rates for common contaminants, and this vendor does not provide that. That is a non-starter for me. There are plenty of other vendors on Amazon that do.
