Customers say
Customers find the rug pad effective at keeping rugs in place, with one noting it works well with woven wool no-pile rugs. Moreover, the product is easy to cut with scissors and customize to fit various sizes, including 2.5×10 foot runners. Additionally, they appreciate its durability, value for money, and ease of installation. However, the grip performance receives mixed feedback – while some say it grips well, others report their rugs still slip a little bit.

Keep your rug on a rug smooth, straight, and in ONE spot without having to resort to violence!
As minor annoyances go, a rug that refuses to lie flat is fairly maddening. I bought a 6×9 rug that I wanted to put on top of some wall-to-wall carpeting to freshen up the living room. Once unrolled and smoothed out, I thought that would be the end of it. As if it had a will of its own, the rug would insist on bunching and curving overnight, mocking my insistence for order! Checking the interwebs, I found I needed some sort of underlayment to keep the damn thing in one spot. One handy-dandy search on Amazon found my solution. Gorilla-grip to the rescue! A little tricky to layout (make sure to mark-out where you want the carpet to land with some tape you can remove later), spread out the gripper material on the ground film-side up, then remove that film and smooth the whole thing out flat. The material is slightly tacky, so it’s not going to leave any weird residue if you ever want to remove it. It’s been 3 days, and that 6×9 rug hasn’t moved a nanometer! I am a happy camper, as order has been returned to my life! Buy with confidence!

The Mat Grips the Floor and Rugâ Keeping Them in Place
Make sure your flooring is clean first and lay down the mat where you want it. Basically, it wonât move easily, which is great. Slowly unroll or unfold half the rug until it covers the mat completely. The rug and mat stay in place! Itâs great. Before, my cats were running and getting under the straw rug, because the old mat wasnât working anymore. I was tripping on it and constantly putting it back. The mat had lost its ability to grip surfaces. Really works well!

This rug pad is not easy to use
This rug pad was a pain to get in place as it is super sticky, and you put it on the back of the rug as rather than putting it on the floor then putting the rug on top of it as you would with the usual rug pad. Getting it in the correct position on the rug was a challenge. It does work for the purpose of keeping a small throw rug in place on top of another rug . It is thin and adheres very well but not so easy to install.

pleased
I am very pleased with this product. The rug gripping mat has been down for about a week and has held the upper rug in place and with no bunching to date. I did have to put corner and side holding tape down also because the mat did not reach the edges, but that didn’t cause any problems. Rug combing and sweeping has not caused any upper rug moving either. I have my fingers crossed that this mat will continue to stay in place and hold the upper rug in place to for a long time.

This Rug Pad Gripper Actually Works (With Tips To Ensure Adhesion)
I am so happy with these rug grippers by Gorilla Grip! To ensure both the rug gripper and rug remain in place, below are a few tips, which — by trial and error — worked perfectly for us.I have several thick throw rugs in my various bathrooms, each with a so-called non-skid rubber-like coating on the bottom, all of which never stayed in place. I lost count of the number of times I purchased similar rug grippers to this one (but never before by Gorilla Grip) — from Bed, Bath & Beyond, Walmart, etc. Frustratingly, NONE held the rugs or the grippers in place, i.e., not only would the rug still move, but then the (other brand) grippers would “sneak out” beyond the border of the rug and look “tacky”.These rug grippers were delivered on 10/26/2024, and we put them in place that day. Today is 12/30/2024, and they have not budged even a half inch after experimenting with different options and finding a solution that worked. TIPS:1) We cut each rug gripper in a rectangle shape to almost exactly ONE INCH from the edge all around each rug (you will need that small uncovered border near the edge of each rug not protected by the gripper pad for this solution to work).2) We first tried professional-grade MASKING TAPE. It did not stick at all to the non-stick rug bottom and it popped right off. Then we tried ProTape’s professional PAINTER’S TAPE. That also did not adhere the non-stick rug bottom, and it, too, popped right off.3) On our third try, we added a continuous strip of GORILLA TAPE (Mini Duct Tape To-Go, 1″ x 10 yd Travel Size), not their two-sided tape (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E5ZWT4/). We placed the MIDDLE of the Gorilla Tape over the rug gripper so that one-half inch of it covered the UNCOVERED border of the rug bottom, and the other half-inch was OVER the rug gripper.4) We are using the pet tool of a Black & Decker hand-vac to vacuum each rug on a weekly basis (if the rugs are visibly dirty and need to be washed, you likely will need to remove the Gorilla tape and rug gripper and see if the tape adheres after the rug is fully dry). One, I cannot say what the success rate would be if we did not take the extra step of using the Gorilla Tape. Two, I have never purchased woven/cotton rugs, such as those with fringed edges, so I don’t know if our solution will work with them . Thus far, however, I am more than pleased that my rugs are not slipping and sliding, and that the rug grippers do not show beyond the edges of the rugs. I highly recommend this product.

Great product, just not on grout tile floors
Well for me it works about half the time, also I have dogs and itâs on a natural tile floor( which I think is not recommended). Definitely would work on a solid smooth surface. On the upside , out of the package, it rolls out easy and I placed the runner right on top. So it definitely works in the right conditions.

Stops carpet from migrating during vacuuming
I bought this to put in between two rugs. The top one moved every time I vacuumed. The product works great.Itâs easy to install if you read the instructions.I am very happy with this purchase.

works great but difficult to use
Works really well but you will break a sweat getting the plastic film off. The directions say to lay it on the floor with the plastic film up. Then smooth out, remove the film and place your rug. Sounds easy doesn’t it? Absolutely not. You cannot remove the film without juggling the rug pad and wrenching the film off. I have done this twice and both times had a helper and really could have used a third person. It’s awful and pretty sticky. However, once you get it placed and under the rug, it holds really well. My rugs are thin and this has held them on top of the wall to wall carpeting for over a year with no moving at all. No bunching or anything. Would I buy it again? Yes. But I will dread every moment leading up to the placement of it until it is over. Will it leave a residue on your wall to wall? Probably. But I will deal with that when I need to.

About the Gorilla Grip RugI give 25 % success. First I thought it is reasonable but I have to move prayer rug few times then it became almost useless.

This is my 3rd attempt to find something to stop my rug moving on the hard floor. Tried tape and other rug grips. This is perfect, adds extra cushion, doesn’t ride up under the rug and most certainly stops the rug moving.

Holds area rug to rug great

Worked well to keep our relatively thin 8×10 carpet from moving and provided some extra padding. The product comes folded but does not hold its creases once you flatten and put a carpet on top. Best get two people to stretch out property. It did have a plasticky smell on opening but that dissipated within a day. A bit of trimming was required, but easily done with basic scissors in less than 5 mins. Would buy again for other carpets.

Works great. Very solid grip and also adds additional padding.
