Several individuals sustained injuries on Sunday night when a boat collided with a ferry carrying many passengers near the Memorial Causeway Bridge in Clearwater, Florida, according to officials.
After the incident, the boat that impacted the Clearwater Ferry, which had over 40 individuals onboard, left the scene, as stated by the Clearwater Police Department. At least two individuals needed to be transported to local hospitals via helicopter, but details regarding the number of injuries remain unclear.
Both the Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are looking into the matter. The Coast Guard has not yet responded to requests for more information.
