Does the job
Iâm new to house plants and wanted a simple light meter that wasnât going to cost too much. It does the job, and is easy to use. If you need something simple, not too expensive, and using just for basic light measurements, this will get the job done.

Good light meter
I purchased this item specifically for what itâs designed to do. There are a few cons, enough to make me take off 2 stars.Con: 1. unable to see the meter while itâs making a reading in the light. My readings are all lighted becauseI use grow lights for my plants. They display should be different so you can read it while in the lightsource.2. To get an accurate reading, you must constantly hit the hold button so you can withdraw it to geta true reading.3. It doesnât lock in a reading so you must constantly hit hold and then youâll get your reading.4. As it pulls away from an area you are measuring, the reading goes down and changes as you draw itcloser to youâ¦.(you must constantly do what I listed in Con 3)5. There is a cheap app that does the same as this product. When comparing readings, they are nearlyequal.Pros: 1. It measures foot candles (fc) of light as well as your reading in lumens.2. Easy and comfortable in your hand, itâs not bulky or awkward in any way.3. Itâs accurate compared to another light meter.Overall itâs a good product and does what itâs supposed toâ¦.reads lumens of light and also provides foot candles. Itâs comfortable in your hand. It would be perfect if a sound was heard when it locks into your reading, but this product doesnât give you that option. That, along with changing the color of the display so you can read it in the light source.

Accurate- my plants took off!
Works great, once I got the correct grow numbers in lux, moved the lights closer and they took off! Easy to read, Iâm doing 15,000 lux – 30k or 50k for veg. Watch for the x10 in the lower corner, the screen reads 4 digits, so 1500 x10 is higher than 9500 without it. Lit screen, too.
