Priced at $89.99 / £116.26 (about AU$140), the Llano V10 Gaming Laptop Cooling Pad is a premium choice for keeping your gaming or work laptop cool. It features a large 4.72-inch turbo fan that can spin at a remarkable 3,500rpm.
The Llano V10 doesn’t shy away from making noise; it’s a bit of a show-off. To evaluate this cooling pad, I conducted a 3DMark stress test on the Acer Predator Helios 300, equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, using the Llano V10 at full power for 15 minutes. I measured sound levels with a meter 10 minutes into the test, registering 69dB from a few inches away and 57.5dB at ear level. This positions the Llano as the second loudest cooling pad I’ve reviewed, right after the Llano RGB Laptop Cooling Pad, which recorded 79dB and 64dB, respectively.
One thing that stands out about this powerful cooling pad is its ability to keep things cool. I monitored our laptop’s maximum temperature before and after the 15-minute stress test. With the Llano running at its highest setting, the temperature increased from 81.5ºF (27.5ºC) to just 103ºF (39.5ºC), a modest increase of 21.5ºF (12ºC). This performance ranks it among the best cooling pads, just trailing the Llano RGB Laptop Cooling Pad, which performs slightly better.
The design of the Llano V10 is appealing, managing a cyberpunk aesthetic without appearing overly aggressive or industrial. The RGB lighting bars along the edges are well-designed, allowing for a selection of changing colors. While it’s only available in black, it looks satisfactory enough.
The Llano also offers ergonomic comfort during use. While it has just one height setting, I found the 10-degree angle quite comfortable for extended use. However, compared to models like the Llano RGB, the materials of the V10 feel a bit cheaper and less sturdy.
When considering the $89.99 / £116.26 (roughly AU$140) price tag of the Llano V10, its value is an important factor. You’re definitely getting solid cooling performance—the fact that it kept our laptop’s temperature increase to just 21.5ºF (12ºC) is among the best results I’ve seen.
However, there’s a noteworthy competitor: the Llano RGB Laptop Cooling Pad, which limited the temperature rise to 8ºC and costs a bit more at $119.99 / £129.99 (around AU$188.33). That cooler often sells for less, currently listed at $95.99 in the US, making the Llano V10’s value slightly less attractive.
