Good sound for the money.
I was uncertain how this microphone would sound for the price, and I can honestly say I’m pleasantly surprised how almost on par it is to a more expensive one I used to own. I knew before purchasing it that it was not stereo unless you used the lav microphone, and this mic does not disappoint. I can’t really give a technical critique of the sound, I just know it does what I need it to do. It’s lightweight, small, and comes with a DeadCat – you have to purchase separate with other brands. I highly recommend purchasing this microphone if you are in the market for one, don’t let the price throw you off, you are getting a quality product. I plan on purchasing another one to record stereo.

Basic, But Gets Your Foot in the Door for Sound Options
This is a back-up for me. Iâve used to it in an emergency and it was adequate for my needs on a day where absolutely professional sound quality was not a requirement.If you have a podcast or YouTube channel this is beyond adequate and only audiophiles and sound snobs would have criticisms.Donât get me wrong, in the scheme of things itâs a pretty low quality bit of gear but the sound quality is superior to any in-camera sound options.

Sounds like a regular mic.Cost was not put into quality but into accessories and extra lav micSensitivity is very low, you have to be very loud for it to pick up sound at reasonable level.

Small rig does it again
Small rig doesn’t disappoint, very impressed with this little mic, very hot output with no battery, I like the option to add a second mic and split the channels. Good sound quality, low noise, works great on my Sony a6500. Only minor complaint is the deadcat can’t go on all the way to cover the actual mic element because of where the mount goes but I moved the mount to the back of the mic to slip the deadcat on further

Connections started to fail after 6months
After roughly 6 months of use the output jack connection started sporadically cutting out and would cause me to lose audio randomly while shooting video. I’ve tried the supplied cables and my own aftermarket and the problem persists. Decent sound for the price but reliability is not good.

For a budget microphone, I was very pleased with the audio quality this microphone produces. The included accessories are a bonus and this makes for an easy plug and play setup (at least for my uses) on my Canon R7. I shoot everything outdoors, and Iâm very satisfied even with the amount of wind blockage the deadcat included with the microphone provides. Much better than the stock microphone built into the camera.
