The video doorbells and security cameras can alert you when they sense movement near your home. Amazon is enhancing its Ring devices by providing AI-driven summaries of what they capture.
These AI-generated summaries will describe activities occurring at your home, such as “A dog is chewing on paper towels on the rug” or “Two individuals are looking into a white car in the driveway.” Amazon aims to keep these descriptions short for quick reading.

At the moment, you receive alerts only when a Ring device detects motion or identifies a person. However, you must access the recording to find out what is happening.
The video summaries are currently in beta testing in the US and Canada for Ring Home Premium subscribers, which costs $19.99 monthly or $199.99 annually. You can enable this feature in the Settings section of the Ring app, and it will function with all your Ring cameras.
Other brands like Arlo, Google Nest, and Wyze have also introduced similar AI-generated notifications. Arlo and Nest’s features include facial recognition to enhance the usefulness of video summaries.

Amazon anticipates more integration of AI within its Ring product line. A recent blog by Ring founder Jamie Siminoff, who has returned to the company, hints at the possibility of consolidating motion alerts from various devices into a single notification.
Additionally, he mentions the idea of “custom anomaly alerts” that will notify you only about exceptional events. According to Siminoff, “It will learn your home’s routines, become more intelligent over time, and provide reassurance by notifying you only about unusual occurrences.”
