The Oklahoma City Thunder won against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. By lifting the much-desired Larry O’Brien trophy, they officially kicked off the offseason.
Even though the offseason has just begun, teams are already active in trades with the NBA Draft approaching.
The Grizzlies and Pacers made trades during the Finals. Memphis exchanged guard Desmond Bane with the Orlando Magic for players and draft picks, while Indiana made a deal involving draft picks.
Here’s an overview of other significant NBA trades this offseason:
Three-team trade sends Kristaps Porzingis to Atlanta
There were doubts about Clint Capela’s return to the Hawks for the 2025-26 season. To address the potential gap at center, Atlanta acquired Kristaps Porzingis from the Celtics in a three-team deal that also included the Brooklyn Nets, as reported by USA Today Sports on Tuesday.
Wizards trade NBA champion guard to New Orleans for CJ McCollum

On Tuesday, ESPN reported a trade between the Washington Wizards and New Orleans Pelicans, moving Jordan Poole, Saddiq Bey, and a draft pick to New Orleans.

Celtics trade star guard Jrue Holiday

On Monday, news broke about the future of two-time NBA All-Star Jrue Holiday. After spending the last two seasons with the Boston Celtics, where he helped them secure their record 18th NBA title last year, it seems he will begin the 2025-26 season with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Celtics received Anfernee Simons and a couple of future draft picks in return for Holiday.
Kevin Durant’s uneven stint with the Suns comes to a close

On Sunday, 2014 NBA MVP Kevin Durant was traded to the Houston Rockets. ESPN reported that the Phoenix Suns received Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green, and six draft picks in return for the two-time NBA champion forward.
The NBA Draft is set to start at 8 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, June 25, at the Barclays Center in New York. The second round is scheduled for Thursday, June 26.
