A juror was dismissed from the Sean “Diddy” Combs sex trafficking and racketeering trial in New York City on Monday, and an alternate was brought in to take their place.
On Friday, the judge and attorneys had extensive conversations regarding Juror 6. The court noted discrepancies in his statements about his residence, questioning whether he actually lived in the Bronx or New Jersey.
The judge remarked, “The record raises serious concerns about the juror’s honesty and whether he manipulated his answers to join and remain on the jury.”
The juror removed was a 41-year-old Black man who claimed to reside in the Bronx, but there was confusion about his actual living situation.
He was substituted with a 57-year-old white man from Westchester.
Originally, there were six alternate jurors, but now only five remain.
The trial then continued with a paralegal from the U.S. attorney’s office, who provided testimony about messages exchanged between Combs’ personal assistant, Kristina Khorram, and Combs himself. Some of these messages referred to arranging a “hotel night.”
Expert witnesses appeared to discuss data connected to credit card transactions, phone calls, and other messages. The prosecution is nearing the conclusion of their case and anticipates wrapping up by Wednesday or Friday.
Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty in the ongoing case and faces the possibility of life imprisonment if found guilty. He has been detained without bail since his arrest in September.
