Helen Hunt recently opened up about the damaging effects Hollywood’s beauty ideals have had on her mental well-being.
At 62, Hunt appeared effortlessly stylish as she enjoyed the ocean in a vintage-style bikini after receiving a prestigious award at the Taormina Film Festival.
The “Hacks” star wore a bright yellow bikini top with green floral bottoms while unwinding by the beach.

This week, Hunt was celebrated in Italy with a lifetime achievement award at the Taormina Film Festival.

Other honorees included Martin Scorsese, Michael Douglas, and Catherine Deneuve.
The “Mad About You” actress shared earlier this month that she experienced “misery and shame” during the early years of her career due to societal standards of beauty.

“It felt impossible not to absorb the expectations of how one should look,” Hunt remarked. “And there was a lot of sorrow and embarrassment about not fitting that mold.”

Hunt went on, “I realized, ‘This could subtly ruin your entire life.’ I decided: I’m not going to let it occupy my mind any longer.”
The “As Good As It Gets” actress revealed that she found guidance in a book called “The Only Diet There Is” by spiritual leader Sondra Ray.
