You can access the software for this keyboard either through a web-based interface or as a downloadable application, which you can find on Akko’s download section.
While the software is fairly well-structured, it can be quite complex and might seem confusing for newcomers. Furthermore, there are some inconsistencies in the features offered between the web and downloadable versions; for example, the ‘simulation’ feature that displays real-time keypresses is available only in the downloadable version.
The main tab includes a manual calibration option to accurately set the full travel distance of the magnetic switches. Akko suggests performing a complete calibration when you first set up your keyboard and after any resets or updates. This process requires you to press each key slowly until it bottoms out. Unfortunately, there is no visual indication during calibration to confirm whether each key has been successfully calibrated.
In addition to adjustable actuation points, which are common in Hall effect gaming keyboards, this keyboard includes several advanced features, which are explained below:
Rapid Trigger: This feature changes the actuation and reset points of your switches based on the distance traveled, rather than sticking to a fixed point during the keystroke. This allows for quicker follow-up keystrokes, which can be helpful for things like counter-strafing in FPS games.
SOCD: This allows you to monitor two keys and activate them based on custom triggering rules. The standard mode only acknowledges the most recently pressed key, but additional options are available:
DKS (dynamic keystroke): This enables you to assign up to four different functions to a single key depending on the actuation distance.
Mod Tap: With this feature, you can assign two actions to one key based on how you press it: one action for holding the key and another for tapping it.
Toggle Key (TGL): This allows you to configure a key to function as a toggle, enabling either continuous input or frequent repeated inputs, similar to a turbo function on some gamepads.
Disclaimer: Be aware that certain settings, like SOCD and TGL, may not be permitted in some competitive gaming contexts.
