As evacuees and the provincial ombudsman voice their concerns, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe is preparing to address the media regarding his administration’s response times and financial assistance for those displaced.
Ombudsman Sharon Pratchler has issued immediate recommendations following discussions with evacuees facing challenges accessing essential support, particularly financial aid and housing.

She urged for prompt action for evacuees, round-the-clock service, and retroactive payments for financial aid. She highlighted that some evacuees are forced to make tough decisions about their limited finances.
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency announced they will enhance staffing at the evacuee hotline to address the backlog of individuals seeking help.
