A moderately strong earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale hit Turkey on Tuesday, as reported by the United States Geological Survey.
The quake occurred at 2:17 a.m. Eastern European Time, approximately 3 miles south of İçmeler, according to data from the agency.
Seismologists are analyzing existing data and may update the magnitude of the earthquake. Furthermore, they could revise the shake-severity map based on newly gathered information.
