Solid stand holding 5-lb light and 43-inch umbrella
These are well-made stands and especially at this price point. I got 2 for around $43. The only reason Iâm not giving these a 5* is the rods stick a bit when youâre raising the stand during setup and to raise lights. This is NOT a deal breaker however. I use these for a background light and hairlight. Comfortable with them for that purpose.

I purchased this stand for use with – Neewer 150W 5600K LED Video LightIt holds the weight of the light by itself just fine, even fully extended. The stand seems like it needs help when you add a softbox, even a small 18″x36″ like the neewer one I purchased.So far it seems to be holding up very well, joints stay tight, and the base stays in place as well.I think it’s made to hit a price point, as an affordable entry level stand for their lights. Which it nails perfectly in my opinion.I dont regret the purchase but if I had to do it over, I would find something a bit heavier duty, or more towards the pro side of light stands.3 gave it 3 stars due to the small footprint, and it should have included sandbags IMO. (Even for a few bucks more)

Impressive quality for amateur use and at a very attractive price.The sections slide smoothly and the thumbscrew clamps are easy to tighten. The base legs spread to give a stable support which will be adequate for most amateur-sized lighting, although because of the relatively light weight of the stand I couldn’t be sure that it will support a large softbox – but these are not really intended for heavy professional use.I am consistently impressed with the value and quality of Neewer products. Recommended.

They are good and sturdy enough for indoor use and holding lighting equipment such as umbrella, speedlites, reflectors. They also do not take too much space, versatile to use. The quality of the material and sturdiness is definitely not for heavy duty though so I wouldn’t recommend them for pro use, I am a hobbyist and they meet the requirements of my occasional non-monetary photo sessions esp. with my super active toddler son!
