Works great after UPS is recalibrated!
The RBC123 (7Ah) battery that came with my APC BR1300G purchased in March 2020 failed after exactly five years in March 2025, when the UPS began audibly switching into charge mode every few seconds while the battery heated up the entire chassis (only 8 minutes of estimated run time remaining with 100% charge for a 30W load). I ordered this SafeAMP RBC124 (9Ah) equivalent battery for next day delivery and had no trouble hot-swapping by simply tipping the UPS on its side, removing the bottom cover, pulling out (thus unplugging) the old battery, and pushing (thus plugging) in the new battery (the red sticker says, “LIFT AND PULL TABS” but should not be removed as it and the green sticker on the other side hold the two modules together). After 12 hours with the new battery, the UPS still showed only 8 minutes of estimated run time remaining with 100% charge for a 30W load, so I performed the calibration procedure clearly documented on the APC web site (FAQ answer FA284198). The PowerChute software is not necessary (or even available for MacOS). Here are the steps I followed using incandescent light bulbs for a stable load:1. Disconnect the Ethernet cable so the computer won’t interfere as the battery gets low.2. Disconnect all critical loads from the UPS since they will lose power and shut down ungracefully when the battery is depleted.3. Attach at least a 30% load that does not fluctuate more than +/- 5%. THIS IS IMPORTANT!4. Unplug the UPS from utility power so it operates on only battery power.5. Allow the UPS to run on battery power until it turns off completely (the UPS fan will switch off after the load drops).***NOTE: If the stable load is not at least 30% or if the procedure is ended before the UPS drops the load, it will not calibrate properly!6. Disconnect the stable load, reconnect the critical loads, plug the UPS back into the wall outlet and allow it to recharge. While recalibrating, the UPS ran far longer than 8 minutes before shutting off (since the UPS based that estimate on the old, failed battery), and after 12 hours it showed 100% charge with estimated time remaining consistent with the Run Time Graph on the APC web site page for the BR1300G. Success! Some reviews claim that this battery arrived dead or defective, so perhaps steps to recalibrate the UPS should be included in the package for awareness and to avoid unnecessary returns…

Easy install
Easy to install and saved a bundle. We use our UPS to power the devices in our media room (OLED TV, Denon AMP, two Sony DVD Changers, a ROKU box, our cable modem, our router, our home automation server, and a network file server), so a working UPS is an essential element of both our media room and our home network. This was one third the cost of a new, comparable UPS, and well worth the cost. Just to be safe, I watched a YouTube video on the install, but it’s so simple I could have done it without watching. We disposed of the old battery with a local recycler who handles these kinds of batteries (you shouldn’t just throw them in the trash!).

Best deal for the price
Exactly what I needed, my batteries had died after saving my PCs life in a thunderstorm while I was not home, I arrived home turned my system on and long annoying beep of death and F02 error (battery failure) this was the original battery from 2016 and had seen it’s end long ago but kept ticking until that day.Now as for the replacement, it is exactly the same as the original battery pack, my only complaint amd this is more on Amazon than the seller , the delivery driver left it out in the rain and when I got home the battery was soaked, thankfully I am used to amazon failing me and I dried them off using compressed air and decicant powder and my UPS is back up and running.Powerchute shows 100% charge 26.7v with 87 minutes runtime 🙂

Dropped right into my 1500 APC UPS.
This battery package slid right into the underside of my UPS and looked just like the replacement OEM one that was at least 3 years old it replaced. It immediately started working and the display was showing time left to dead and everything else just like the old one when it was good.I have two large tower boxes hooked up, not low power PC’s, and they’re drawing around 275 watts and it has 16 to 17 minutes run time.At 200 watts it’s about half hour run time.It took about 5 minutes to swap the battery, it took more time to unplug everything so I could slide it out enough to put it on its side to pull the battery cover and slide the dead one out and the new one in.The big question will be how long it actually lasts and time will tell but they average about 3 to 5 years and a quality built battery. You can’t beat it for the price considering it’s ready to drop in outa the box so as long as I get decent life out of it it’s great. I will try to update if anything changes.

Battery not padded in box but charged when it came
I knocked 1 star off because the battery was barely padded in the outer box and the battery’s box itself had no padding at all. I give it a 4 stars bc from what I read a lot of these batteries were not charged when they came; this one was charged.

Perfect replacment
Perfect fit replacement, much easier than trying to put in two separate 12V batteries in as I’d done last time. Got the UPS working again and kept it out of the landfill. The old batteries are very recyclable, I just put them out on the curb and the local “scrappers” scoop them right up, as they do anything metal. I strongly support free-market recycling, not mandated recycling when it makes zero economic sense.

I charged it to buy it. Then I charged it to use it. Hasn’t died yet, so I’m still happy.
Works. Take the old one out. Put this one in. And Charge the thing. Now you’ll be backed up again. Good price. A lot better than the OEM. And if it gets half the time before it goes dead than the one that came with my original UPS, then it’s a bargain. Guess I’ll see, but so far, so good.

Great replacement vs. New ups.
Fixed my F02 error code. Prevented buying a whole new unit, saving me me over $130. Great product. Protects my electronics well.
