Excellent for keychain and long enough for deep recessed reset buttons
The type with the hole now has a home on my keychain. In IT you sometimes need to press a reset button that’s further back than the tip of a ballpoint pen will reach. This from y keychain pushes it without any glitch or problem.Since it’s a pretty flimsy looking flat cut out piece of meal, I put it on the ring next to a key shaped multi-tool to keep this tool rigid and not poke me from my pocket.I assume the other “tool shape” type are just as good at pushing the buttons, I mean face it, you can only dress up a blunt ½” pin on an easy to hold 1½” knurled grip. It doesn’t bend super easy but if you really need to I guess you could make it into a right angle tool but I haven’t tried it.Extremely happy with purchase. One on keychain, one with phone/notebook fixit stuff, and near security camera stuff to reach the reset buttons on them, and I’ll probably order more since I don’t exactly remember where that security camera parts and accessories spot was. The price is right, I’ll double my chances of finding one whenever I go searching.

WHAT IS IT FOR?Opening the hatch on a modern smartphone to insert or remove the SIM card and Memory card. You got a pin with your phone so you could set it up, but have probably lost it by the time you need it again…The manufacturer suggests you might also use them to remove pins from certain types of watch strap, to adjust the length. Hmm.IN THE BAG* Two flat SIM pins* Two pins with “screwdriver” handlesUSINGMost smartphones (outside the USA) use removable SIMs and memory cards. These used to be installed (and removed) by cracking open the phone case and removing the battery, revealing tiny little sockets buried in the guts of the phone. A while back phone manufacturers decided that they didn’t want customers opening the case or replacing the battery, and made the case completely sealed. Modern smartphones have little trays that pop out for you to insert or remove SIMs and memory cards; these are flush with the edge of the case (behind a hatch), only pop out when you insert a magic pin through the adjacent tiny hole.You should still have the pin that came with your phone, but if you’re reading this you probably don’t! In principle, you could use any pin lying around, a piece of stiff wire, or a straightened-out paperclip – but none of these ad hoc magic pins seem to work reliably for me.So do these magic pins from AYWFE work? Of course they do. The only thing to watch out for is that you insert the pin in the correct hole; you may have other holes that looks very similar! The eject hole will either be in the hatch or right next to it. If in doubt, read your phone’s user guide…I also tried removing pins from my Pulsar’s stainless steel watchstrap. The pins with the handles worked much better for this, as you need to push down HARD. Actually, this was a lot easier than my usual tool (a mapping pin) so will come in handy again some day.BEST BITS- There are four pins for you to share, lose, hide, attach to lanyards…- They work – so much better than ad hoc pinsWORST BITS- You’ll probably only use them once or twice a yearCONCLUSIONSimple and effective tools for ejecting SIM trays and adjusting watchstraps.
